ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN [FOUR] - IDENTITY

THE THEORY _ If an “unknown” plant is grown in damp soil in an enclosed area, it will (with adequate sunlight) be able to  maintain a life-cycle without any interference/ assistance from a participator.

GREEN ASPECTS _ A non-load bearing wall which allows ventilation and large amounts of indirect sunlight. Uses less water. Minimum pesticide problems.

TERRARIUM _ A sealed transparent globe or similar container in which plants are grown.

PLANTS USED _ Lettuce is a fast growing vegetable. It is a cool weather crop, which can withstand light frosts. Lettuce is a shallow-root crop; meaning it can grow well in relative shallow containers (Size of the container can stunt growth). Soil must be moist, but not too wet. It saves money and helps with eating healthy. Provides a variety of vitamins and calcium.

HOW DOES IT WORK _ All plants breathe, taking in carbon dioxide and giving of oxygen. It takes in CO2 and through photosynthesis, produces food for itself and gives of the oxygen. It’s an old recycle plant.
