ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN [THREE] - UNLINKED PERCEPTION
The industrial zoned harbour and rich historical CBD - clearly divided by an abandoned railway. Restoring the railway tranport and creating a new activity node to promote accessibility throguh a visual connection. By lowering and extending the proposed building over the sea it creates a threshold between land an water.
GOAL - By creating a connection between the CBD, railway and harbour, an opportunity of hope and development arises and takes form as a catalyst to upgrade the immediate surrounding area.
MAPPING AND LANDSCAPE - Two separate buildings - one private and one semi-public. By stepping the site towards the ocean and using landscape, it will act as an imaginary barrier between private and semi-public.
