ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN [FIVE] - URBAN VERTICAL AGRICULTURE SKYSCRAPER

[2013] SITE KEY - Untreated, stagnant ash ponds.

HISTORY - The site was mainly used for storage and slurry excess. The site is heritage protected and therefore its immobilized elements cannot easily be removed. The man-made ash ponds are therefore placeholders for something greater.

CONCEPT - Locomote [to move about one’s own power].

Locomote of water

Locomote of people

Locomote of produce

Locomote of minerals

Locomote of independency

The water is cleaned naturally and mechanically. It is then used for the growing of vertical crops, and then circulated back into the natural locomote pattern of water.
